A SURVIVAL of the fittest battle takes place in Mt Hagen men’s softball preliminary finals when minor premiers New Guinea Islands face Drongos this weekend.
NGI, who lost to Rovers in the major semi-final are contemplating what went wrong in their two point loss at the hands of the latter.
The winner of this match books a grand final date with Rovers.
They are in to retain lost pride but the battle is set to be a fiery one against Drongos who also want a fair share of the premiership title.
NGI will be relying on hurler Terence Tirupia again to be on top of things against Drongos’ batting line up. Tirupia, who has been named in one of the representative sides to the national championships is also a member of the Pacific Games train-on squad.
NGI boast a top batting line-up in the competition and nothing should be taken away from them.
But Drongos hurler Westin Kakat and catcher Kuli Topiso have a daunting task ahead but know what it takes to win.
