NHC to return land to ENB govt

 THE National Housing Corporation says it will return land and buildings it owns in East New Britain to the provincial government for redevelopment.

NHC acting Managing Director John Dege gave this undertaking during the launching of the Rabaul district’s revolving funds at the Mature Rabaul Microfinance Ltd (MRML) office last Saturday.

Dege said the NHC owned many old buildings that were located in most of the local level government areas in the province.

“With most of these buildings, I am sad to say we have not undertaken any maintenance over the years,” he said.

“I have visited provinces nationwide to ensure that districts take ownership of NHC properties of which we are totally incapacitated in terms of maintenance and up keeping.
