THE health sector in New Ireland will be expecting a boost in its service delivery following the allocation of more than K53,000 from the Namatanai joint district planning and budget priority committee (JDPBPC).
Minister for Mining and member for Namatanai Byron Chan said this funding would provide for ambulances and sea ambulances for health centres that had no access to road transport or roads.
In the education sector, all the top-up schools in the district will receive K16,500 each.
This it to help them with their priority projects.
Others sectors to receive allocations from JDPBPC include rural markets at Punam, Rasiirk, Pam, Tanga and Lelet.
There were other appropriations made and funds expanded under the transport sector grants for boats, trucks and agricultural-related projects.
These allocations were made by the minister for mining and other committee representatives and presidents in a recent meeting held in Kavieng after the provincial budget was passed.
