NI man wins Digicel SMS promo

NEW Ireland man Johnson Esau yesterday is all smiles after his name was announced as the top cash prize winner of Digicel’s “New Year Santa SMS” promotion in Buka, in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
Esau, an account manager with Wilkins, sub-contracting to South Bougainville Engineering, has taken out K10,000 after playing and being ranked number one in the SMS game.
The 34-year-old said: “I was really overjoyed when I discovered that I had won K10,000.
“I usually participate in Digicel’s promotional SMS games and this is my first time to win and I am really proud.”
Esau said he was excited but was not too sure about his win at first until he received a call from Digicel confirming he was the top prize winner.
The second prize went to Leo Vali from Mendi, in the Southern Highlands Province.
Vali won K5,000, while minor prizes included instant K1 free credits.
The promotion was launched on Dec 28 and ended at midnight on Jan 8.
