Nicta approves Bitron licence

 THE National Information and Communication Technology Authority has approved the operating licence for the local electronics firm Bitron Ltd. 

“The approval by NICTA will enable Bitron to assist in bringing information and communication technology services to the wider communities,” a company statement said. 

General manager Jab Mesa said: “This is the definition of trust and confidence shown by the NICTA for a Papua New Guinea-owned company such as Bitron Electronics Ltd.

“PNG citizens with the expertise, knowledge and skills in using ICT are all important partners with a common goal to facilitate socio-economic interventions that will contribute to Governments Medium Term Development objectives and Vision 2050 in Papua New Guinea.”

Bitron Electronics Ltd is a new company that specialises in satellite dish installation and cabling structure design and installation.

The company also deals within the lines of general electronics trouble-shooting and repairs. 

“The company is capable of executing projects within and outside of metropolitan areas and into the rural districts, using Morobe as its staring point. It is also the company’s long term objective to assist in bringing ICT services to wider rural communities in Papua New Guinea,” Mesa said.

“We are a proud to be given the opportunity under laws of this country to also participate professionally in nation building using the ICT services industry provisions.”
