Nicta’s CEO position advertised

THE chief executive officer’s position of the National Information Technology Authority (Nicta) had been advertised and applications are open to the public, according to a State minister.
Information Communication Technology Minister Timothy Masiu told The National that it was the normal process that they had followed.
“The CEO’s position, as well as the UAS (universal access service) board members positions, have also been advertised,” he said.
“That’s a normal process we follow so people can apply.
“The term of the CEO is between three to five years.
“The National Information Communication Act 2009 provides any period between three to five years, subject to the determination of the appointment committee.”
According to the position vacancy notice advertised in The National on Monday, Nicta’s board comprised of four members; three being non-executive members including the chairman and the independent expert, and
the chief executive officer (ex officio).
It stated that the members were appointed by the National Information Technology Authority appointment committee chaired by the prime minister.
