PEOPLE who have complaints and queries regarding the National Identification Project can raise them directly with the NID office,   Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Charles Abel says.

He launched the NID Help Desk in Port Moresby last Friday with other facilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project roll out.

“This will ensure efficiency and effectiveness in rolling out the project by addressing some of the issues in terms of complaints from the public, or following up on outstanding queries regarding their card and NID card collections.

“The help desk will communicate directly with the public regarding complaints and queries about the project.

“The SMS service will ensure effective and efficient card collection by notifying the people who submitted their registration when their card is ready and where they can collect at their nearest NID office,” Abel said.

Registrar-General Disckson Kiragi said the help desk and SMS were important for the project.
