Night out ends in disaster

TWO expatriates escaped injury after a Toyota fifth element double cab crashed through a fence and ploughed into the building occupied by the Royal Society for Prevention Against Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) veterinary clinic.
The accident occurred at 2am yesterday while the two were returning home from a party at Penthouse Club.
The driver of the vehicle, which belongs to a Port Moresby construction company, lost control of the steering wheel while driving through the tunnel towards Waigani Drive.
A security officer with the company, who conducted an inspection at the scene, said the vehicle must have hit the electrical support poles on the side of the road, causing the vehicle to roll over and crash through the fence.
The vehicle landed upside down.
“The two men were not hurt. They left soon after the accident,” he said.
The two are not employees with the construction company but had hired the vehicle for use.
Attempts to get comments from the construction company were unsuccessful.
RSPCA administrator Solo Damena did not want to comment either on the accident but a staff member said he met with representatives from company to settle the matter.
