Nightmare in Port Moresby

I DO not know who was responsible, but our Miss PNG deserves an apology.
The Miss South Pacific pageant is essentially a beauty contest, not an event for someone to dabble with some paint and turn a beauty queen into a candidate for Nightmare in Port Moresby.
Why on earth was Rachel Sapery James made to look like something out of a horror Hollywood movie?
I squirmed when I saw her step out onto the stage.
Any chance she had of landing the crown quickly disappeared.
She must have been the laughing stock of the night.
Poor girl.
Poor PNG.
While contestants from the other South Pacific nations paraded in their fine costumes and with make-up to enhance their looks, Miss PNG caused everyone to cringe.
What was the make-up artist thinking?
Why did the leader of the Miss PNG team not do something about it?
By not doing so, I would assume that the leader also thought it was a fantastic idea.
How stupid!
I urge that both be removed from any further involvement in the future.
If they want to be “creative”, I suggest they do it to themselves in their own bathroom.
Not only did they undo James and her hopes, they also squandered good money contributed by taxpayers and sponsors.
What a shambles.
What a shame.
