NINE agencies from the Law and Justice Sector will be strapping on their sports shoes tomorrow for the annual L&JS games at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
Law and Justice secretariat director Joe Kanekane yesterday said: “The games are significant for the sector as it consolidates our activities and functions and reminds the agencies of their roles.
“The annual L&JS games are in its fifth year and this year’s event is expected to be bigger and better since its inception in 2005, under the theme ‘respect law, people and property’,” he added.
The agencies will be competing in five sports – soccer, basketball, volleyball touch rugby and netball.
All games will be played on a round robin format with the leading teams advancing to the finals.
Kanekane also extended the sector’s appreciation to the PNG Sports Federation for their continuous support to the sector’s initiative of involving its agencies and their families in enjoying a time-out with sports.
The programme starts at 8am and promises to be a fun-filled day of activities throughout, with the winner walking away with the shield.
The Magisterial Services will be looking to retain the title for the second consecutive year.
However, they will have to lift their game with dominant performances.
