Nipa-Kutubu to continue with subsidies for students

THE Nipa-Kutubu district development authority (DDA) will continue to pay fees for its tertiary students, says MP Jeffery Komal.
He said he understood the hardship parents and guardians had and the authority would continue to assist them.
Komal started paying school fees, gown fees and hosting graduation dinners for the students since he took office in 2012 and that has been continuing.
“I will continue to fund fees for the students, I will not let them down as many of their parents come from poor background,” Komal said.
“The Kutubu oil will run dry one day and we must support human resource in the province.”
The MP believed that many law and order problems happening in the district would be minimised if there were more elites who would do awareness and educate their relatives in their respective communities.
He said elementary schools came within the jurisdiction of the local level government and he decided to accommodate them under his development plan because this was where all forms of learning began.
Komal had funded and improved nearly all primary schools in the district.
