NIPA-KUTUBU MP Jeffery Komal and his joint district planning and budget priority committee (JDPBC) handed down the second budget for the next five years on Tuesday.

The first district planning and budget priority committee budget break-up was done in May in which he announced for 2013 only.

But on Tuesday he announced the five year plan of K50 million.

He will receive K10 million each year from the district services improvement programme (DSIP).

Before Komal announced the budget breakup, he quoted the Bible where it said to give one tenth back to God.

“Everyone must agree and first of all we give K500,000 to all churches in the district,” he said.

Out of the K50 million for the district, infrastructural development received the biggest slice of the cake, recieving K15 million, education and health received K10 million, while law and order, commerce and agriculture and the administration received K5 million respectively.

Komal told thousands of people crowded outside the Nipa district administration building that he would distribute fairly and would not involve politics in all his work.

He said the breakup was permanent and people must remain calm to receive their shares and few changes would be done, either adding extra funds or giving projects in the middle of the five year period depending on the  funds available.

Out of the K5 million for the district administration, Komal put aside K300,000 for emergency cases; especially for rural areas without road links.
