No action after 6 months

Letters

WHILE addressing the nation after being elected prime minister in May, James Marape gave us great hope when he said he would take back PNG.
He mentioned names of several departmental and public entreprise heads that their organisations would be investigated and dealt with accordingly.
They included Finance, Works, Lands, PNG Power Ltd, Eda Ranu to name a few.
It’s over six months and many high office holders in the O’Neill regime are still enjoying the comfort of their offices, including the ones Marape said to investigate.
In fact, we are seeing them mingling around with our prime minister.
This goes to show that our PM has forgotten his announcement to the nation and has followed the normal footsteps of his predecessors, who often don’t act on their promises.
Very sad to see our prime minister who gave us hope, taking a back flip and keeping very quiet and allowing the people in the O’Neill regime conduct business as usual.
Prime land in our towns and cities are taken by foreigners.
Businesses and jobs reserved for nationals as enshrined in our national constitution are taken over by foreigners at an alarming rate.
Yet not a single member of parliament has raised this issue on the floor of parliament since Independence in 1975.
If these little issues cannot be addressed by our elected leaders over all these years, how then can we continue to talk about taking back PNG?

  • Frustrations are the product of unmet expectations, its engines being goals set too high!

Its remedies include patience and the the self-acknowledgement of us not being in heaven [where miracles are natural]

  • A country is made up of people, organisations and departments are made up of people who know process and procedures. Managers are better people to say little and do things. You can not make a miracle. So say little, move one step at a time.
