No chance of VONC

Letters

ANYONE who is dreaming about change of government has to wait until the year 2022 through the ballots and not through a vote of no-confidence.
It is the party with the majority of elected MPs was invited by the Head of State to form the government and the party leader automatically is nominated and elected as PM.
So from a layman’s understanding, the position of prime minister is not open for anyone of the MPs to be nominated.
Therefore, nomination has to come from within the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) Party and that person has to be a party leader under its own internal requirements and process of PNC party constitution.
If in this case Peter O’Neill is still the PNC Party leader, it will not be proper for a VONC motion to be entertained on the floor of Parliament.
Any defection of MPs during the eleventh hour does not count as records have to amended and registered in good lead time with the registrar of the political parties. Everyone is entitle to their opinion on the VONC hype.
