LAST August, I applied for the Diploma in Public Administration programme at the PNG Institute of Public Administration (PNGIPA) commencing this year. However, I did not receive any response. Last month, I was in Port Moresby so I went to PNGIPA to check. There was no training taking place and all classrooms were empty. I was told that all 2013 programmes were cancelled by the director, but no reasons were given. Canthe public service minister or any authority responsible for PNGIPA tell public servants throughout the country what is happening? One trainer told me that they are doing nothing and many experienced trainers have left. Is the government trying to close PNGIPA down?
