Nominations for awards extended

Nominations for the SP Sports Awards (SPSA) have been extended to Friday.
Awards committee chairman Tania Mahuru said she was happy with the nominations received so far from the various sporting codes.
“2017 was a great year for sports. A good number of codes won their events, including AFL, who defended their title for the second consecutive year,” she said.
“The SP PNG Hunters won their first Intrust Super Cup.
“I encourage everyone to nominate in any one of the 11 categories.”
Some of the categories include:

  1. Male Athlete of the Year – Best international performance by a male athlete in 2017;
  2. Female Athlete of the Year – Best international performance by a female athlete in 2017; and,
  3. Team of the Year – Best international performance by a team in 2017.

Nomination forms can be picked up at any City Pharmacy outlet nationwide, the PNG Olympic Committee office (at 4-Mile, Port Moresby), the PNG Sports Foundation office at Sir John Guise Stadium (indoor complex), SP Brewery at Gordon or online via http://www.pngolympic.org/images/misc/Nomination_form_2018_e.
