NONDUGL Rugby League is gearing up to host its preseason presentation on Saturday at the Kambiye Mugul Memorial Oval, in Jiwaka.

The seven-week preseason ends this weekend with prizes for the top two clubs in the senior and junior grades.

The contenders for the in the senior divisions are KK Hills, Station Royals, Border Mates and Kulpin Brothers.

“There are consolation prizes for all the clubs that participated in the preseason competition,” president Francis Ohl said.

The prizes are courtesy of Frank Goi and his family in Port Moresby.

The family has been influential in setting up a well organised sporting venue and competitions

Ohl acknowledged the continued support of Goi.

A significant part of the event coinciding with the presentation is the handing-over of home-made alcohol manufacturing equipment and uprooting of marijuana plants to signify behavioural change by the local youths who are participating in the competition.

Ohl said the youths were quitting all illegal behaviour and were pledging to advocate development in all sectors of life.

The exchange will be facilitated by police station commander Kelly Kaman and Nondugl health centre officer-in-charge John Bena with local leaders.

Two golden oldies matches will be played as show of support for the youths.
