North Fly sending student to Australia to finish law study

Education

A second-year law student from Western has received sponsorship from North Fly district development authority (DDA) to continue her studies at James Cook University in Australia.
North Fly MP James Donald said education was one of the Western’s five priority areas. He was happy to support Rose Ukins, a student from Iogi village, in North Fly
“l have a very high regard for intellectuals as Ukins, who will now form the basis for such investments in education for my district,” Donald said.
Ukins was given K95,333 to cover her education expenses.
Her father, Rody Ukins Snr, thanked Donald for the support.
Ukins Sr said that he and his wife had met all the tuition needs of their daughter from 2015 to last year, and had been struggling until North Fly came to the table.
He thanked the staff of the North Fly district administration for the opportunity given to their daughter to further her studies.
