FORTY grade 8 students have raised more than K14,000 to build a computer laboratory for their primary school.
The students from Afore, in the Ijivitari district of Northern, walked the Kokoda Track to raise funds.
The Itokama Primary School has 179 students, and one female and four male teachers.
It is one of the remotest primary schools in the Afore local level government.
Student leader Rickystan Savaiko led the 29 boys and 11 girls in the fundraising effort.
They also held a show at the PNG Bible Translation Centre where students dressed in traditional attire sang and danced.
Rickystan said the students volunteered to help raise funds for the laboratory because they lacked the facilities enjoyed by students in urban areas.
