THE Northern Confederate schools selected side is confident of making to the top in the Under-16 schools championships tomorrow according to coach Tennis Peya.
Peya is in charge of an 18-man team and is assisted by Warren Pahren (trainer) and John Pius (team manager).
Peya told The National before flying out of Nadzab Airport yesterday that the squad was made up of talented young players.
He said in the previous years the team was competitive but did not make it to the top.
“This year the team is selected through merit comprise of talented players, the best out of the best, I’m bringing to Port Moresby. Some of the boys are from Lae and some are from Kainantu,” Peya said.
He said this is the chance for the boys to perform to their best of their ability and get selected for a tour of Queensland.
“We are well prepared and are looking forward to this games against New Guinea Islands and Southern and will give our best.
“I’m sure we will be competitive and get positive results,” Peya said.
