KANDEP MP Don Polye says there is nothing to show for in Enga province from the millions of kina coming into the provincial government’s purse annually from the giant Porgera gold mine.
He challenged the provincial government to provide a detailed report of the money received and where it was spent since the mine came into operation.
Mr Polye said all Engans had the right to know how much money the provincial government was getting in special support grants and other grants from the giant gold mine every year and where the money was spent.
He said many schools, health centres, aid posts, roads, bridges and government stations in the districts were falling apart, forcing people to travel to nearby provinces seeking better health care, education and other services.
