THE National Petroleum Company Papua New Guinea (NPCP) yesterday launched its website to enable connection with its stakeholders and others in the hydrocarbon industry.

It is the third largest shareholder in this world class liquefied natural gas (LNG) project with over 16.5 percent equity, behind ExxonMobil (33.2%) and Oil Search (29%).

The website www.npcp.com went live yesterday.

NPCP chairman Frank Kramer said the website would enable connection with their ultimate shareholders, citizens as well as commercial partners, investors and others in the industry.

“The website captures much of our information, mission, history as well as our corporate profile and news.

“NPCP represents the state in the hydrocarbon project and with the website, we are more visible and as we develop, so will the website,” Kramer said.

NPCP was re-established early last year by the government so that the country, through NPCP, could become significant players in the hydrocarbon sector of the resource industry.

Public Enterprises and State Investments Minister Ben Micah, when officially launching the website, said it was a very important step for the company to be transparent when dealing with important information which will be accessible by stakeholders and everyone.

“Gone are the days when we have been made to become basic recipients of royalties or small dividends of imported minerals and mineral carbon sector,” he said.

Micah congratulated Kramer, the board, staff of NPCP and the website developer for the exciting phase of the company.

“This will now put NPCP (National Petroleum Company Papua New Guinea) in the core front of the leadership of other companies who are here to exploit resources.”

The website is connected to social media accounts so stakeholders, especially young and mobile, can get connected.
