THE new-look National Research Institute (NRI) website is one of the number of initiatives NRI is looking at supporting the public sector workforce, NRI development programme   director Dr Thomas Webster said during the launch of the new-look website last Friday.
Dr Webster said in order to achieve the aim of the public sector workforce development programme, knowledge and information was critical for officers in the public services to perform their roles  more effectively.
He said NRI played a key role in generating knowledge through carrying out research and  policy analysis on many key development issues and this knowledge that was generated  was  a  package in print and uploaded on the website.
“The website plays an important role in disseminating the information and other news to the public sector workforce, development practitioners, researchers and the public,” Dr Webster said.
The Department of Personnel Management acting secretary John Kali in launching the new-look website, congratulated the NRI director and  his staff for carrying out this initiative.
Mr Kali said the event signified a new chapter for the institute as it embraced the “information age” and enabled homegrown public policy research and analysis, making information easily accessible around the  world.
