NSL end Brian Bell’s winning run

NAMBAWAN Super Limited (NSL) brought Brian Bell One rolling form to an end in the Private Companies netball main game with a 22-20 win yesterday at the Rita Flynn netball courts.
There was not going to be any “interest added from the super fund” as they held on for a 14-9 lead in the first half, giving Mr Bs girls a little nose lead, and then fought hard late to take the game by two points.
Myley Kula (GS) and Peiru Digori (GA) had to work hard for their 22 points against Brian Bell’s goal defence of Caroline Genaia and Pauline Keamau, but it was the lack of urgency in mid-court that counted against the competition front runners at the end.
At the opposite end of the court, Brian Bell’s Lalelatu Ula (GA) could not work without her rebounds, while Lina Raka Sr (GS) had a tough day against NSL’s Tegana Polum and Solange Arua.
The early game of the day was a showcase in itself with Fairdeal shooter Tetu Ralani top shooting a total 28 points in her side’s humbling of luckless Daltron, 34-10, only supported by six points from Wane Thoa (GA).
Daltron could only manage to net 10 points, with shooter Laureen Tamarua contributing eight of them.
BSP1 yet again sank IPA’s run to the top with a 24-11 score, courtesy of Nina Vele – 18 shots and Renagi Mulina – six.
IPA’s Julienne Maliaki again played her heart out on aging knees for her nine points at goal attack, in a losing side.
IPA wing attack Asenaca Damena was at her best mid-court, however it wasn’t enough.
