FANS in Morobe will have feast of football when the Telikom National Soccer League hosts a double header at the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium in Lae tomorrow.
In the opening match, PNG Development team, Besta PNG United will host NC Civil Works Oro FC, while in the main game, Western Highlands-based Welgris Highlanders take on reigning premier, Hekari United FC.
Besta coach Bob Morris will be banking on last weekend’s performance to take them through against visiting Port Moresby-based Northern province team, Oro FC.
Morris, who was appointed as Under-17 coach, will use these matches to select players for the upcoming OFC/FIFA qualifying matches later this year.
After their disastrous 3-1 loss at Sir John Guise stadium against Eastern Star in the opening match, the John Davani-coached Oro FC team are after the scalp of the Besta team.
Davani will bank on Fabian Bagi, Gary Moka and Chuckston Aopi in front, while the ageless Desmond Waku, Abraham Enoch and Rodney Talau will try to control the midfield as Nelson Joromo takes charge of the defence.
Hekari are likely to field a full strength side with the inclusion of Fijian duo Taniela Waqa and Maciu Dunadamu and David Muta.
The trio did not take the field last weekend because of the late arrival of their international transfer certificates from the Fiji Football Association and Football Federation Australia.
In Port Moresby, FC Port Moresby will be fired-up to host visiting Gigira Laitepo Morobe FC at the Sir John Guise stadium.
After a disappointing start to the season with 2-0 loss to Hekari, Port Moresby will come out firing.
Both teams will feature some of the finest footballers in Reginald Davani, Max Sengum, Vanya Malagian, Roniel Igens, Michael Foster for Port Moresby and Eliuda Fugre Jeremy Yasasa, Emmanuel Simon, Valentine Nelson, Sammy Hiob, Beckham Yanum and Japhet Tiampo for Morobe.
Morobe has the best goalkeeper in business in former Sepik FC stopper, Ronald Warisan.
In Kimbe, WNB Tavur FC will make their debut in semi-professional competition when they host visiting Eastern Star.
Tavur coach Luke Muta said they had surprises for the visitors.
