Nupiri potential leader for SHP

Letters

From time to time, I submit an article on the kind of leadership we had in the past and the challenges we have been through as a province.
And I also put forth the kind of leadership we need today so that we can make informed and better choices when deciding whom to lead the Southern
Highlands come the next election.
I’ve come to see that Peter Nupiri is the man best for the job.
Some of you would probably not agree.
Why?
Because opinions differ.
Even the Siamese twins differ in individual preferences and opinion, therefore, I wont blame you if you disagree.
Why I picked Nupiri amongst the finest in our human resource armoury is because of his potential that could sell well and I believe it could also impress those of you who oppose to my suggestion.
SHP broke the mould in offering the country two prime ministers, a governor-general, a Major-General and a host of senior public servants and have left a lasting impression.
We settled for nothing less than excellence.
Again, we will offer what it takes to lead through this time of exponential decline.
Sadly, the current leadership, by its nature let’s say, is leaving people feeling disheartened, low, vulnerable, frustrated and left behind at a time when resilience, cohesion and collaboration are necessary to ignite hope and restore confidence.
And understandably, the leadership has struggled heavily to live by the creed of its master plan and address development challenges simultaneously
dealing with corruption, nepotism and political expediency, health, education and public fund mismanagement and same old crises that have gone unabated.
Nupiri is resilient, empathetic, transparent, connected and balanced.
He is known by these qualities throughout his life and anyone who crossed paths with him would easily vouch on his behalf.
One of his most significant characteristics as a leader is his ability to lead the way.
Time and again, as mine manager, local businessman and chairman of PNG Power, Nupiri always charted a new way forward.
He brings on board a balanced perspective on issues and multidimensional solutions which attracts many to follow him, like myself, irrespective of district, tribe or political party.
We already have a leader among us.
