Nurses association gets support

MORE than K200,000 has been pledged for the PNG Nurses Research Symposium in October during a dinner in Lae.
Morobe Governor Kelly Naru committed K50,000, with the Angau Memorial General Hospital board and PNG Nurses Association pledging K50,000 each.
Acting PNG Nurses Association vice-president Frederick Kebai said the association had given K50,000 for the dinner and would fund the symposium with another K50,000.
Lae City manager Roy Kamen pledged K20,000, provincial division of commerce, industry and tourism K10,000, Lae urban ward two council K3,000, Mavra Lodge K2000 and Huon Pharmacy K5000.
The other K11,000 was pledged by individuals and corporate organisations.
The Angau Angels also did a catwalk during the dinner.
The associations aims to raise K600,000 for the symposium.
