PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill arrived back in Port Moresby last night after a highly successful state visit to Indonesia with a 140-strong delegation, made up mainly of local businessmen and women.

It was a visit hailed by both countries as the beginning of a “new relationship” between two countries who are bound to become major economic powers in the Asia-Pacific region.

The highlight of the visit was the signing of several treaties and agreements between the two countries on Monday.

On Tuesday, the Papua New Guinea and Indonesian chambers of commerce signed a landmark agreement in Jakarta to work together to promote growth of business in both countries.

Several other new business and political contacts have been made by both countries.
