O’Neill dropping the ball as police minister

 I AM beginning to lose confidence in the current police commissioner, whom I see lack initiative, leadership capabilities and qualities to lead from the top to control and delegate his duties. 

This is now contributing to the total breakdown of the command and control within the police force again. 

Recently there have been more abuses, bullying and illegal practices being reported in our dailies. 

Is the police minister aware of what is going on with our police force with the recent rape of a woman by a police officer at the ATS settlement? 

Good citizens are fed-up with all the illegal activities by our policemen, who should be protecting us instead of abusing us. 

Do we lack qualified people who can lead the constabulary? 

That is why the same old dogs are still occupying these positions. 

Or is it nepotism that avoids new heads to be appointed to lead? 

For how long do we have to wait to see a change for the betterment in the police force? 

We have some very good leaders today with the likes of Superintendent Andy Bawa, whose leadership I admire and there are many others out there who can change the force if given the opportunity. 

This government under the leadership of Peter O’Neill has promised to tackle corruption head on in all government departments. 

When is it happening in the police department? 

The prime minister, as the current police minister, should be ashamed for entertaining and leading a very corrupt government department without accounting for their abuses and illegal practices happening in broad daylight. 

Such police abuse under O’Neill’s nose only reflects how weak he is in addressing our law and order issues. 

We are fed-up and demand answers to this prolonged problem of police abuse on innocent citizens.
