O’Neill, let TFS do its job

A RECENT announcement by the prime minister to establish a new anti-corruption commission makes me wonder why we need it when the current Task Force Sweep (TFS) has been doing a great job exposing some high profile corrupt practices within the government and the private sector.

If the new anti-corruption commission is established, the TFS will automatically cease.

This will create a perception that the TFS is perhaps touching on a raw nerve among some as it carries out its duties.

The prime minister has been very vocal about fighting corruption with great positive results and he should finish it without any political interference or biased decisions.

As an  ordinary citizen, I can see that the government is covering something up by setting up a new commission in the name of fighting corruption.

This government has done a tremendous job in its short stint in office.

I challenge the prime minister to leave the current TFS team as it is.

Allow it to finish whatever job it has started and  prove that this government is truly for the grassroots people and is serious about fighting corruption.
