LEGISLATION for Petromin PNG Holdings Ltd and the Independent Public Business Corporation (IPBC) is being drafted and there is no need for opposition leader Belden Namah to be “belching hot air” about it, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill says.

“We are still in the process of drafting the legislation to do that,” he told a media cpmference reporters yesterday.

“There is no need for our learned opposition leader to jump up and down. He needs to be responsible in his statements.”

O’Neill said Petromin was not being shut down while IPBC had a lot of things wrong about it that needed to be changed.

“Petromin is still operating,” he said.

“We know that he (Namah) is a very strong supporter of Petromin and we welcome that.

“We welcome his interest in the IPBC.

“After 10 years of that national organisation being in place, we have seen the result of the chaotic manner in which IPBC has been operating in for quite some time.

“I know he (Namah) has a very personal interest because his party (PNG Party) was responsible for establishing that organisation.”
