OBE award for bishop

Bishop of Bereina Rochus Josef Tatamai, a member of the Order of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC), has congratulated the Archbishop of Port Moresby John Ribat who was among two others knighted in the Queen’s Birthday honours.
Ribat was awarded the Order of the British Empire (civil division) and bestowed Knight of the British Empire.
Tatamai said: “On behalf of the Catholic dioceses in the Southern region (Alotau-Sideia, Bereina, Kerema and Daru-Kiunga) which are under the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Port Moresby, we offer our hearty congratulations to Archbishop John Ribat, MSC, on receiving the knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday honours this year.
“Archbishop John Ribat MSC occupies the capital see in Papua New Guinea, meaning being archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Port Moresby he takes a leadership role amongst all the archdioceses and dioceses in PNG.
