Of crossing and rubbish

A COUPLE of suggestions here for the National Capital District Commission. First, the Ela Beach pedestrian crossings.
People are using the speed humps to cross, even though there are marked crossings.
NCDC might as well combine the two and make the speed humps the official crossings as well. Cars have to slow down anyway, so we can take advantage of that.
Second, the new NCD bins on footpaths, which are a great idea.
But as nice as they look I have already seen two bins where the rubbish has been burnt in them and they are now nothing but a burnt out shell. Terrible.
