A POLICE officer who has been diagnosed with a heart problem is appealing for financial assistance to get medical treatment overseas.

Senior Constable Daniel Haluma, pictured, had been with the police force for more than 25 years, serving mostly in Southern Highlands and Hela.

He was forced to resign last month because of his medical condition.

Hauma is from Kilibi village in Koroba district, Hela.

He has been told that he needs medical treatment by specialist doctors in Singapore.

Relative, Ronny Angu, said Haluma would need about K200,000 for the operation.

“Our family is worried because we don’t have the money for the laboratory tests and treatment,” Angu said.

“It’s an expensive exercise which requires a contribution from every family member, friends, fellow citizens, private and corporate entities,” he said.

The family is organising some fundraising activities in the next few weeks.

Financial assistance can be deposited into the account – Daniel Haluma, BSP Port Moresby 1012578652.
