Education Department’s first assistant secretary for policy and research Peter Kants says the school learning improvement plan (Slip) is key to delivering quality education in the country.
“With Slip, school administrations can be able to manage, budget and prioritise their monies only on the needed infrastructure,” he said.
“Slip belongs to the students and I believe it is the way to delivering quality education to all students in PNG.”
Kants, who was behind the encouragement, training and creation of Slip for 17 schools consisting of elementary, primary and secondary schools under the Seventh-Day Adventist’s (SDA) education mission, said he was pleased to see a major improvement with the successful completion of the plan in 12 schools.
He commended the schools and their Slip working committees for their tremendous efforts.
“Although it wasn’t an easy journey for everyone, it was the right thing to do,” he said.
