AN officer from the family and sexual violence unit (FSVU) in Southern Highlands is thankful to the Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council for hosting a workshop on referral pathways that ended last Friday in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.
Mendi FSVU officer-in-charge Sgt Jimmy Suaip told The National that the workshop aimed at strengthening access to justice had broadened their minds to work confidently to combat family and sexual violence.
He said there was lack of services for mothers seeking help from family violence as there were no safe houses and other vital services to suit their needs.
