TWO police officers in East New Britain have been suspended from duties after being charged with threatening to use firearms.
Pais Job, 24, from Wabag, Enga, and Andy Tanda, 28, from Pangia, Southern Highlands, appeared at the Kokopo District Court and were granted K200 bail each.
Acting police commander Senior Inspector Joseph Tabali said in Kokopo on Friday the two officers were engaged by a group from Karavia ward to deal with a land issue.
He said the two officers allegedly consumed alcohol with the complainants before going to Karavia where they confronted the other party cutting grass on the piece of land between 7am and 8am.
The two allegedly threatened to use the firearms on the group. The matter was reported to police.
