THERE have been positive behaviour from youths and cooperation with parish leaders during a district church festival at Mumeng, Morobe, recently, Giamalo Granson says.
Granson, coordinator of the Mumeng Evangelical Lutheran Church noted that the youths have also improved their music and creative dance performances.
He said this following the Christ in Culture (CIC) festival  last Thursday which ended on Sunday.
“Change in youths in Mumeng, positions the possibility of hosting the national CIC festival this year at the same venue,” Granson said.
“Compared with the past, youths had not done well over the last six years in terms of presentation of items during the district youths’ annual festival.
“The youths had cooperated well with their leaders in staging the seventh Mumeng district CIC festival successfully without any hiccups.”
He said this after the successful seventh Mumeng district CIC festival in Bulolo last week.
About 13 parishes in the district attended the festival and about eight parishes were selected to participate in the national event.
Mumeng district CIC coordinator Chris Okoae Vincent said: “I really appreciate that kind of working partnership among the leaders and parish members, especially youths.
“I would like to thank the ELC national youth office which was going around districts in conducting music lessons that taught a lot of the youths to play perfectly,” Vincent said.
He said there were no interferences from outsiders because most of the community members were youths who had joined the CIC festival. Vincent urged students and youths living outside the district to support in transforming youths in the district.
