DEPARTMENT of National Planning and Monitoring secretary Koney Samuel says delays in the submission of provincial and district development plans will affect implementation and alignment exercises.
Samuel said this during a development planners conference in Port Moresby.
“We have received a greater response and cooperation from our provinces and districts in terms of the medium-term development plan three implementation and alignment,” he said.
Samuel said to date, 19 out of 22 provinces had submitted their development plans and 75 out of 89 districts had submitted theirs already.
“We expect the remaining provinces and districts to submit their respective development plans. We are here to support you and we must work together,” he said.
Samuel said, although the development challenges that the country faced were daunting, all stakeholders needed to remain committed to bringing about change and development.
“We must remain focused and work hard to achieve our development aspirations.”
