National Research Institute official Dr Fiona Hukula has been appointed a commissioner of the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission.
Chairman of CLRC and Kandrian-Gloucester MP Joseph Lelang announced Hukula’s appointment on Wednesday.
Lelang said Hukula was appointed as a member of the commission because she has qualifications and experience in anthropology, sociology and political science.
Under the CLRC law, commissioners are appointed by the justice minister and new appointments were made on June 29.
“I want to inform Papua New Guinea and our partners that we are always working towards strengthening our capacity so that we will deliver to your expectations. We are about reforming laws and making them more relevant to our time,” Lelang said.
