Officials backflip on Panthers’ free pass

The officials of the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup NCD leg have reversed their decision to hand a free pass to defending champions Paga Panthers to the regional finals.
This means the Panthers will have to earn their entry to the regional finals in Goroka like all other teams in the competition.
The decision by the officials only fired up the Panthers who belted Okuk Watchdogs 11-0 yesterday at the Kone Tigers Oval to book a quarterfinals bet.
Panthers will take on UPNG Attafair Aladdin today.
Prior to the Panthers and Watchdogs match yesterday, D8 Mosquitoes and Northbuild Hummers had a bone-jarring encounter which went into extra time.
The game was rescheduled to yesterday after it ended in a 4-all stalemate on Tuesday when time ran out.
In the rematch yesterday Mosquitoes defeated Hammers with a golden point and will face Agro Bullets.
