Suspended Madang administrator Daniel Aloi and two senior government officers have been charged with misappropriation and official corruption.
Aloi was taken in on Sunday for questioning and charged.
Suspended director of finance Dick Moiga was taken on Friday night along with provincial legal officer Godwin Haumu.
They all face one count each of misappropriation and official corruption after a payment of K400,000 was approved for
the renovation of the governor’s house.
They were all released on a K4000 bail each.
Aloi was taken in for questioning in December last year but since the process of questioning him as an NEC-appointed officer was not in place, former provincial police commander Superintendent Jacob Singura did not allow the interview.
The K400,000 was processed as a variation cost for maintaining the governor’s official residence near the Kalibobo Lighthouse.
A team of police investigators attached to the national fraud squad in Port Moresby led by Senior Detective Charles Kukari made the arrests. Two others, Elias Yangi and Berry Meten were arrested and charged late last year.
They will appear in court on June 22.
