OIL Search has appointed Leon Buskens as its PNG country manager, responsible for social responsibility, community affairs and communications-related activities.
Buskens joined Oil Search in 2012, with a responsibility for stakeholder engagement.
Prior to that, he was the managing director of Nambawan Super.
In addition, Wayne Kasou has been appointed Oil Search executive support and senior vice-president government affairs. He joined Oil Search from ExxonMobil PNG Ltd in 2018, where he was responsible for government affairs.
Oil Search has also appointed Bart Lismont as the executive vice-president to lead development and operations, driving operational excellence and continued safe, sustainable and profitable operations in PNG assets.
It also appointed Beth White as executive vice-president sustainability and technology. White would be responsible for Oil Search’s environmental, social, and governance strategy as well as technology and innovation.
Meanwhile, after eight years as chief financial officer and 16 years with the company, Stephen Gardiner had decided to step down from next February.
“We are extremely appreciative of Stephen’s deep understanding of and commitment to PNG, his significant contributions in a number of senior roles over his period at Oil Search and for his loyalty, hard work and dedication,” the company said.
“We are delighted that Stephen will remain with Oil Search as an adviser to the managing director.”
Ayten Saridas will join Oil Search in August as chief financial officer designate and would transition into the role early next year.
“Ayten has more than 30 years of international corporate finance experience across a broad range of Australian Securities Exchange listed companies in coal, upstream oil and gas, infrastructure, retail, fast-moving consumer goods and property and is a very welcome addition to our executive leadership team.”
