Oil Search appoints six independent board committees

OIL Search Ltd has appointed six independent members of the company’s board committees.
The six are Mary Johns, Richard Kuna, Ganjiki Wayne, Des Yaninen, Jennifer Baing-Waiko and Winifred Kula Amini.
The company looks forward to their continued participation in Oil Search’s independent committee member programme.
The independent committee member programme began in 2016 to expand the pool of skilled business leaders, provide director training and experience and provide board members access to experience and insights.
Johns, who is also the company secretary of Bank South Pacific, thanked Oil Search for the opportunity.
“It has been a privilege and learning experience for me personally since my appointment as an independent committee member,” she said.
“The opportunity to participate as a committee member with experienced board directors each with their diverse set of skills sets and vast experience in the oil, gas and commercial sectors has been invaluable, together with advancing my knowledge of how a publicly listed company handles its affairs.”
Kuna, the president of CPA PNG, is a partner at Kuna Taberia Kiruwi Accountants and Advisors.
Oil Search chairman Rick Lee said the programme was just one example of the company’s ongoing commitment to providing access to education and professional development in the country and motivating and empowering professionals as they transition to PNG’s leaders of tomorrow.
