Ok to criticise but offer alternatives

THE controversial K3 billion UBS loan has affected the people’s perception of the O’Neill-Dion government.
The government, especially key decision-makers like the prime minister, are privy to classified information which must have influenced them to source funding to buy the Oil Search shares.
Also, being in the engine room, our key decision-makers better understand the inner dynamics.
As stated by the prime minister, the decision to secure a K3 billion loan is in the best interest of the nation.
Those who object to it should suggest a workable alternative and in doing so, they should consider questions like where should the government get the money?
Is it important for PNG to hold Oil Search shares?
Is it in the national interest for PNG to buy Oil Search shares?
If PNG does not hold Oil Search shares what will happen?
By providing alternatives, the criticisms can then be credible.
As human beings our minds are fallible regardless of our level of education.
We make mistakes.
If one cannot suggest a detailed workable solution to address the imperfections of the government’s decision, then support what it is doing.
