THE 28th Trukai Olympic Day Fun Run T-shirt was officially launched yesterday by Trukai Industries Ltd and the PNG Sports Federation and Olympic Committee (PNGSFOC).
This will be the 12th year for the company to support the fun run.
Trukai Industries marketing coordinator Fredrick Toua said this year, the company would be supporting the PNGSFOC with a total of 90,000 Trukai Fun Run T-shirts, similar to last year.
He added that Trukai Industries was happy to be a part of the PNGSFOC because it gave them the opportunity to get down to the community and reach out to the sporting elites.
Toua also urged other corporate houses to jump on the bandwagon and support the PNGSFOC’s cause.
The T-shirts will be up for auction in Lae on March 9 and the following day in Port Moresby. Toua said that last year’s auctions were successful with an additional 25,000 T-shirts sold.
This year’s event will be held on July 31.  Two more centres are expected to participate in this year’s event.
PNGSFOC fundraising committee chairman Syd Yates said: “Not only will it be a fun fun. It is also important to be competitive athletes because it will enable our elite athletes to participate in the upcoming Pacific Games in Noumea, New Caledonia.”
