One more record for PNG’s young power lifter

POWER lifter Dobi Mea was among students who graduated from the Redscar High School, just outside Port Moresby, last month.
Miss Mea, a PNG representative, said her education was just as important as her sporting ambitions.
“My education is important because it is my future and sports is part and parcel of my education and it helps me to be physically fit.
“I am very happy to have completed my Grade 10 and I am hoping to continue my studies, and my sports,” the young athlete said. 
The 17-year-old, from Porebada village, Central province, was a PNG representatives in the 44kg power lifting division and won gold.
She also won gold in the squat 44kg division at the sub-junior world power lifting championship in Brazil last month and won silver in bunch press 44kg division.
Miss Mea also took part in the 2007 Pacific Games in Samoa and in an international meet in South Africa last year.
