O’Neill welcomes Total’s new boss

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has welcomed the incoming managing director of Total PNG Limited, Jean Marc Noiray, to Papua New Guinea.
In receiving the new managing director, accompanied by Total’s senior vice-president for the Asia-Pacific, Javier Rielo, O’Neill thanked outgoing managing director, Philippe Blanchard, for the achievements he has made in advancing the next LNG project in the country.
“Total is becoming a strong partner for Papua New Guinea and will be investing here for decades to come,” the Prime Minister said.
“I welcome the new managing director to Papua New Guinea and our business community.
“He has very good experience in major projects in countries such as Argentina, and I look forward to him working with our Government and partner company teams.
“I thank Philippe Blanchard for his commitment to the success of the Papua LNG project, and I know he and his young family have enjoyed their time in our country.
“I wish him every success in his future as his career continues to advance.”
O’Neill said he was satisfied with progress in developing the Papua LNG project and looked forward to important announcements in the coming months.
“A great deal of progress has already been made as we move this project to FEED and construction.
“The Government of Papua New Guinea, Total, other partner companies, landowners and other stakeholders are all in this together.
“As part of its investment, Total is not only investing in skills and training, but is undertaking social development projects that will help many people.”
