Only there to make money

IT’S interesting to see the group of self-appointed experts doing the company board shuffle around the country again.
Most of us Papua New Guineans are ignorant to the fact that many of these self-appointed and self-created think tank and professional board sitters are barely qualified to actually participate in many of the board they are on.
Once on the board, they then immediately start the search for the next board seat or seat in a non-achieving think tank.
Most have never owned and or operated a business and have zero capacity to understand and read a balance sheet, yet they keep popping up in the line for the gravy train.
Many use the nationalistic and patriotic approach that all these positions should be held by Papua New Guineans, a fair call if all were equal.
The fact is that many have no skills and qualifications to be sitting anywhere.
One only has to actually look at the respective balance sheet to see they have achieved nothing for the shareholders other than to increase the operating cost for the directors on said boards.
Once they have positioned themselves, it’s only a matter of time before expensive real estate and assets are purchased offshore, usually in Australia, matching luxury cars and houses in the best Brisbane suburbs is all part of the “look at me, I have arrived” optic.
Most Papua New Guineans would not be aware that to own these assets and properties in Australia, one must have at least residency status, or, Australian citizenship.
However, these people have no issues condemning the expatriate and/or Australian who tries to genuinely make a difference for PNG and public company shareholders.
One does not have to look far at all to see who is the real traitor to our country’s people.
Perhaps it is time a blog site be set up to expose these actors.
Then we have the “patriotic PNG nationals” who hammer aid agency management teams daily, accusing them of using aid money for personal gain but most of us don’t realise that these “patriots” have had access to millions over the years for more hair brain failed programmes.
Maybe it’s the fact they can’t loot it anymore is what really upsets them.
