MT Hagen rugby league president Eli Opa is calling on clubs intending to participate in the competition to start submitting their names to league executives.
He was speaking during the annual general meeting in Mt Hagen last Thursday.
Opa said he was aiming to improve the league next season and was looking at making room for 10 clubs to participate in the competition next season.
“Ten clubs will be priority to join the competition,” Opa said.
He said there would be some changes made to the rules and regulations governing the league for clubs to follow.
He is anticipating that the colour competition next year will be bigger compared with last year.
Opa said the competition was to select players to represent the province at various tournaments in the province and region.
However with the limited time, he said the league was urging clubs to collect forms and register themselves.
Opa thanked the club presidents and players for ensuring the finals ended successfully this year.
He said rugby league was a national sport and urged clubs and their executives to follow the right procedure so that they could end the next year’s competition on a high note.
He urged players to be serious if they were keen on becoming competitive and show the true spirit of rugby league.
